Bank Uganda has successfully migrated its core banking operations to Raxio Data
Centres, marking a significant step toward strengthening the country’s
financial infrastructure. The move has been recognized by the Bank of Uganda as
pivotal for safeguarding Uganda’s national payments ecosystem and reducing
reliance on offshore processing.
The
migration to Raxio’s Tier III certified, carrier-neutral facility is expected
to lower latency in real-time banking services, enhance regulatory compliance,
and mitigate risks associated with processing critical financial data abroad.
Raxio,
as Uganda’s only Tier III data centre, provides the local, sovereign
infrastructure necessary to support the nation’s growing financial and digital
services sector, signaling a shift toward homegrown solutions for critical
banking operations.
