The International
Telecommunication Union (ITU) has launched a new online course under its ITU
Academy platform focused on the Digital Skills Toolkit, aimed at supporting
countries in developing national digital skills policies and advancing
workforce capabilities.
The initiative, announced by
Cosmas Luckyson Zavazava, Director of the Telecommunication Development Bureau
at ITU, comes as global stakeholders mark the International Day for Digital
Learning.
The course is designed to
equip policymakers, institutions, and stakeholders with practical tools and
frameworks to strengthen digital skills ecosystems and address the growing
demand for digital competencies.
Officials say the programme
will support countries in building inclusive digital economies by enhancing
skills development strategies and promoting capacity building in line with
evolving technological trends.
