The
Rwanda Space Agency has initiated discussions with leading global space
organisations in Washington, D.C., as part of efforts to expand international
collaboration in the space sector.
Chief
Executive Officer of the agency, Gaspard Twagirayezu, held meetings with
officials from NASA and SpaceX to explore potential areas of partnership.

The
engagements focused on identifying opportunities for cooperation in space
innovation, technology development, and capacity building, as Rwanda continues
to strengthen its position in the global space ecosystem.
The
discussions are expected to contribute to Rwanda’s broader ambitions to
leverage space technologies for national development, including applications in
communication, Earth observation, and scientific research.

The
move underscores growing interest among African space agencies in forming
strategic alliances with established international players to accelerate the
development of local capabilities and expand access to advanced space
technologies.
