Mozambique has highlighted its role in advancing digital connectivity during
the EU-Mozambique Digital Open Day, a strategic forum focused on accelerating
the country’s digital transformation.
The
event, held in Brussels, brought together policymakers, industry leaders and
development partners to explore practical approaches to strengthening
Mozambique’s digital future through enhanced connectivity.
Speaking
during a panel session on universal access to affordable, secure and
high-quality connectivity, Simon Karikari, Chief Executive Officer of Vodacom
Mozambique, shared insights drawn from the company’s on-the-ground experience
in expanding network infrastructure across the country.
He
outlined Vodacom Mozambique’s continued investments in mobile networks, fibre
optic infrastructure and international connectivity, positioning the country as
an emerging player within the regional digital ecosystem.
According
to the company, its operational scale and close engagement with local
communities have enabled it to contribute meaningfully to the development of
practical connectivity solutions that not only improve access but also support
economic growth and digital inclusion.
