Ethio telecom has officially launched teleSign, a
digital platform designed to enable remote document authentication, Power of
Attorney services, and attorney licensing.
The solution, developed in partnership with the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Justice, and the Federal Documents
Authentication and Registration Service, allows both domestic users and members
of the diaspora to access legal services without the need for physical presence
at embassies or government offices.

Through teleSign, users can digitally grant or revoke
Power of Attorney, authenticate legal documents, and apply for or renew
attorney licenses from any location. The platform integrates AI-powered
liveness detection for secure video-based identification and is connected to
the Fayda National Digital ID system to ensure trusted verification.
Officials noted that the system
significantly reduces processing times from weeks to minutes, while offering
24/7 access to services and seamless digital payments through telebirr. All
data is hosted on Ethio telecom’s local cloud infrastructure to ensure national
data sovereignty and security.

The launch
of teleSign marks a significant step in Ethiopia’s digital transformation
efforts, with Ethio telecom reaffirming its commitment to modernizing public
services and expanding access to secure, citizen-centric digital solutions.
