Airtel
Rwanda has reinforced its commitment to advancing Rwanda’s digital
transformation through expanded connectivity solutions and a new smartphone
financing initiative aimed at improving device affordability.
The
telecom operator announced that it now operates a fully 4G-enabled Voice over
LTE (VoLTE) network, enhancing voice quality and data efficiency for its
subscribers. The company is also promoting a range of digital offerings,
including affordable devices, IKOKINGE packs integrated with the My Airtel App,
and zero-rated transaction services that enable customers to send money to
other networks and banks via Airtel Money without charges.

As
part of efforts to deepen smartphone penetration, Airtel Rwanda has introduced
a financing scheme in partnership with Watu Credit and SIMSTEL. The initiative
offers customers access to the latest Samsung smartphones through flexible
repayment plans, with options available on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
starting from as low as Rwf 747 per day.
The
financing programme is currently available at Airtel service shops across
Kigali, with plans underway to extend the offering to other regions of the
country in the near future.
Through
these initiatives, Airtel Rwanda aims to drive greater digital inclusion by
expanding access to affordable connectivity, financial services, and smart
devices, enabling more Rwandans to participate in the digital economy.
