Safaricom Ethiopia has hosted its Annual Safety, Health and Wellbeing Forum, bringing together partners, contractors, and key stakeholders to reinforce its commitment to safety across operations. The forum, led by members of the company’s Executive Committee, focused on reviewing past performance and setting priorities for the 2026/2027 financial year.

Participants assessed the company’s safety, health and wellbeing performance over the previous year and outlined strategies to strengthen standards across its expanding operations. The event also featured the recognition of partner organizations that have demonstrated excellence in safety practices, contributing to the protection of employees, communities, and the environment.

Over the past four years, Safaricom Ethiopia has deployed more than 3,500 telecom sites nationwide, expanding connectivity while operating in challenging environments. The company attributed these achievements to strong collaboration among teams and partners, alongside a sustained emphasis on operational safety.

Speaking on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer, Chief External Affairs Officer Andualem Admassie emphasized that safety remains a core value embedded in the company’s operations. He highlighted the importance of leadership, collaboration, and a proactive safety culture, underscoring the principle that all work must be carried out safely.

Safaricom Ethiopia said it will continue investing in initiatives that support the physical and mental wellbeing of its workforce, noting that employee health and safety are critical to long-term sustainability.
