The
Nigerian Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy will host a
series of Virtual Open Days starting 7 April 2026 to guide universities and
research institutions through the application process for the National Digital
Economy Research Clusters Initiative.
The
program, valued at ₦12 billion, aims to position Nigerian universities at the
forefront of addressing challenges in connectivity, digital public
infrastructure, skills development, job creation, trust, and artificial
intelligence.
The
Open Days will provide clarity on expectations, assist institutions in forming
strong research consortia, and encourage participation from Vice-Chancellors,
Rectors, and research leaders across the country.
Sessions
are scheduled for 7 April from 1pm to 2pm WAT, 9 April from 9am to 10am WAT,
and 10 April from 5pm to 6pm WAT. Interested participants can register online
to join the discussions and contribute to shaping Nigeria’s digital future.
