Malatsi, Minister for Communications and Digital Technologies, has held a
meeting with leadership of the Independent Communications Authority of South
Africa (ICASA) to discuss key regulatory priorities shaping the country’s
communications sector.

The
engagement focused on strengthening coordination between government and the
regulator to address critical issues affecting the industry, including
investment facilitation, network expansion and the acceleration of digital
transformation.
Both
sides underscored the importance of closer collaboration in creating an
enabling regulatory environment that supports innovation and infrastructure
development, while ensuring effective oversight of the sector.

The
discussions form part of ongoing efforts to align policy direction with
regulatory frameworks as South Africa seeks to expand connectivity and unlock
new opportunities in its digital economy.
