Dakar Mobilité has hosted a delegation from the
Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) as part of a study and
experience-sharing mission focused on sustainable urban mobility in Africa.
The visit provided a platform for exchanges between
transport stakeholders from Senegal and Nigeria on ongoing reforms in urban
transport systems and the transition toward more sustainable mobility models.

Discussions highlighted Senegal’s progress in
restructuring and formalising urban transport services, including initiatives
aimed at improving efficiency, coordination, and environmental sustainability
within the sector.
The engagement also enabled both parties to share best
practices and explore collaborative approaches to addressing the growing
mobility challenges facing major African cities.

Officials
noted that the partnership reflects a shared vision between Dakar and Lagos to
advance inclusive, efficient, and environmentally sustainable urban transport
systems across the continent.
