Permanent
Secretary at the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance, Aminah Zawedde, has
been honoured with the ABETO Peace Award 2026 in recognition of her commitment
to peace, tolerance, and ethical leadership.
Zawedde
received the award alongside fellow Permanent Secretaries and government
officials, with the recognition highlighting contributions toward fostering
national cohesion and promoting responsible leadership.
In
her remarks, she described the award as a reflection of the collective efforts
of government institutions, partners, and teams working to improve service
delivery and support stability across Uganda.

She
emphasized that progress in the ICT sector extends beyond infrastructure and
technology, noting that digital transformation must be anchored in values such
as peace and the responsible use of information to ensure meaningful impact.
Zawedde
also reaffirmed her commitment to advancing digital inclusion, particularly
among young people, as part of broader efforts to build a resilient and
inclusive society.
She
expressed appreciation to President Yoweri Museveni for his leadership and
support, as well as to colleagues, mentors, and stakeholders contributing to
Uganda’s development agenda.
