The
Centre for Space Life Sciences at the University of Ibadan has formalised a
strategic partnership with the Department of Geography through the signing of a
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening collaboration in space
science, geospatial research, and sustainable development.

The
agreement follows a series of prior engagements between the two institutions,
during which key areas of mutual interest and cooperation were identified.
The
Centre’s delegation was led by Acting Director Dr. Oladosu Olakunle Rufus and
included the Head of Technical, Mr. Adegbite Abdul; Chief Legal Officer, Mr.
Awotoye Oluwatosin; Head of Engineering, Engr. Seye Adedoja; Head of Outreach,
Mrs. Olaosun Abegunde Linda; and Media Officer, Mr. Amuwa Benson.

The
Department of Geography was represented by its Head, Prof. Olutoyin Fashae,
alongside Professors D.D. Ajayi and Olalekan Taiwo, as well as other senior
academic staff.
Both
parties agreed to commence immediate implementation of the MoU, with a focus on
delivering practical and impactful outcomes across research, capacity building,
and applied geospatial solutions.
