EthSwitch
has announced that transactions on its EthioPay Instant Payment System (IPS)
have surpassed one million per day, marking a significant milestone in the
country’s digital payments ecosystem.
According
to the company, the platform recorded over 1,029,000 peer-to-peer (P2P)
transactions in a single day, with a total value of approximately ETB 5.1
billion. The achievement reflects the growing adoption of interoperable digital
payment solutions across Ethiopia.

EthSwitch
said the milestone underscores its role in advancing seamless, fast, and
scalable financial transactions nationwide, as more users and institutions
integrate into the digital payments infrastructure.
The
EthioPay IPS platform enables real-time transfers across multiple financial
institutions, supporting increased efficiency and accessibility in the movement
of funds.
The
continued growth in transaction volumes highlights the accelerating shift
toward digital financial services in Ethiopia, driven by increasing demand for
convenient and reliable payment solutions.

EthSwitch
