Sierra Leone Foundation has launched the Orange Digital Center (ODC) Club in
Makeni City in partnership with the University of Makeni (UniMak), in a move
aimed at expanding digital education and skills development for young people.

The launch event, brought together the Chief Executive
Officer of Orange Sierra Leone, government stakeholders, and representatives
from UniMak, highlighting a collaborative effort to strengthen digital
inclusion and youth empowerment.
The initiative is designed to provide students with
access to practical digital learning opportunities, enabling them to develop
skills in technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

According to organisers, the ODC Club will serve as a
dedicated platform for hands-on learning, creativity, and capacity building to
prepare students for the evolving demands of the digital economy and future
employment opportunities.
Stakeholders
noted that the initiative forms part of broader efforts to enhance digital
access and education across Sierra Leone, with a focus on equipping young
people with tools to participate in the country’s growing technology sector.
