Rwanda
has reaffirmed its strategic partnership with the African Development Bank
Group (AfDB) following bilateral talks between Minister of Finance and Economic
Planning Yusuf Murangwa and AfDB President Dr. Sidi Ould Tah on the sidelines
of the World Bank Group and IMF Spring Meetings.
The
discussions focused on strengthening collaboration in key priority areas,
including private sector financing to stimulate investment and job creation,
institutional reforms within the AfDB to improve efficiency and responsiveness,
and increased investment in critical infrastructure.

Both
parties identified energy, transport, water, and sanitation as strategic
sectors requiring sustained financing to support Rwanda’s long-term development
objectives.
Officials
noted that enhancing private sector participation remains central to driving
economic growth, while reforms within the AfDB are expected to improve delivery
and impact across its operations.
The
meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from both Rwanda and the AfDB to
deepen cooperation in support of sustainable development and inclusive economic
transformation.
