Uganda
Airlines has announced the return to service of its Airbus A330-800neo
aircraft, registration 5X-NIL, marking a significant step in strengthening its
long-haul operations and overall network capacity.
The
national carrier confirmed that the aircraft successfully resumed operations
with a flight to Dubai on April 17, 2026. The development signals renewed
operational momentum for the airline as it continues to enhance connectivity
across its international routes.
The
Airbus A330-800neo plays a critical role in Uganda Airlines’ long-haul
strategy, offering improved fuel efficiency, extended range, and enhanced
passenger comfort. Its return is expected to support increased frequency and
reliability on key routes, particularly within the Middle East and other
intercontinental destinations.
Management
of Uganda Airlines expressed appreciation to customers, partners, and
stakeholders for their patience and continued support during the period the
aircraft was out of service. The airline reaffirmed its commitment to
maintaining high standards of safety, reliability, and operational efficiency.
The
return of 5X-NIL comes at a time when Uganda Airlines is positioning itself to
