The National Commission on Research, Science and Technology (NCRST) has participated in the 13th AERAP Forum, where it joined African and European stakeholders to advance cooperation in science, research, and innovation.

Speaking at the forum, NCRST Chief Executive Officer Anicia Peters outlined the impact of funded research initiatives in Namibia, underscoring the role of strategic investment in driving national development and innovation outcomes.

In her additional capacity as President-elect, Prof. Peters also showcased the work of the Sub-Saharan Africa Science Granting Councils Initiative, emphasizing its contribution to strengthening research funding systems and supporting scientific advancement across the African continent.

The AERAP Forum serves as an annual platform that convenes European funding agencies alongside African research and science councils. It focuses on identifying shared priorities, deepening partnerships, and exploring opportunities for collaborative funding and joint research initiatives.

NCRST’s participation reflects Namibia’s continued engagement in international science diplomacy efforts aimed at enhancing research capacity, fostering innovation ecosystems, and promoting cross-continental collaboration.
