The
Regional African Satellite Communication Organization (RASCOM) has signed a
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with AGEOS to strengthen collaboration in
satellite communications and geospatial development.
The
agreement was signed by RASCOM Director General Timothy Ashong and the General
Director of AGEOS, Mr Aboubakar Ndjoungui Mambimba, during the ongoing NewSpace
Africa Conference at Stade de l’Amitié in Libreville, Gabon.

The
partnership is expected to enhance cooperation between the two institutions in
advancing satellite-based solutions, improving data sharing capabilities, and
supporting the development of space and geospatial technologies across the
African continent.
Officials
indicated that the MoU will also contribute to strengthening regional capacity
in earth observation and satellite communication services, with a focus on
supporting development planning, infrastructure monitoring, and evidence-based
decision-making.

The
signing forms part of broader engagements at the NewSpace Africa Conference,
which has brought together key stakeholders from across Africa’s space and
satellite industry to discuss innovation, collaboration, and the future of the
continent’s space economy.
Both
organisations reaffirmed their commitment to working together to promote
sustainable technological advancement and to enhance Africa’s participation in
the global space sector.
