South Sudan’s NCA Board holds first 2026 meeting, sets agenda on innovation and governance

The Board of Directors of the National Communication Authority (NCA) has convened its first meeting of 2026, setting the tone for a year focused on innovation, governance, and sustainability.

The meeting was chaired by Board Chairman Eng. Tejwok Simon Ajak and marked the participation of new board members, including Gen. Mawien Mawien Arik, Director General of Internal National Security Services, and Hon. Malual Tap, First Undersecretary at the Ministry of Finance.

In his opening remarks, the Chairman welcomed the new members and acknowledged the NCA management team led by Director General Rizig Dominic Samuel. He emphasized the Board’s commitment to fostering a professional, respectful, and results-oriented working relationship with management.

Discussions during the meeting highlighted 2026 as a “year of action,” with a strong emphasis on implementing forward-looking strategies to drive the Authority’s mandate. Key agenda items included progress on the NCA e-Service portal, a central component of the national digital transformation agenda aimed at improving service delivery and operational efficiency.

The Board also reviewed efforts to align the Authority’s human resource policy with its Strategic Plan for 2025–2029, ensuring that institutional capacity supports long-term objectives.

The meeting reflects the Authority’s continued focus on strengthening governance structures and advancing digital initiatives as part of broader efforts to enhance the communications sector.
