The
President of the Republic of Mozambique, Daniel Francisco Chapo, has undertaken
an official working visit to the Ethiopian Artificial Intelligence Institute to
observe ongoing developments in artificial intelligence research and
innovation.
During
the visit, Director General Werku Gachena briefed the President on Ethiopia’s
progress in advancing artificial intelligence technologies, highlighting
national efforts in research, development, and capacity building.

President
Chapo commended the institute’s work, noting that its initiatives hold
significance not only for Ethiopia but for the wider African continent. He
emphasized that artificial intelligence will play a decisive role in shaping
the future global economy and urged African countries to prioritize investment
and engagement in the sector.
He
further praised the young professionals working at the institute, describing
them as a critical force in shaping Africa’s future development trajectory.
According to him, their innovation and creativity represent a strong foundation
for the continent’s long-term technological advancement.

The
President also underscored the importance of strengthening international
cooperation, stressing that collaboration and knowledge exchange among African
countries are essential for accelerating development and achieving shared
prosperity.
The
visit reflects growing continental interest in artificial intelligence as a
strategic priority for economic transformation and technological
competitiveness.
