The United Nations will
officially launch its first Digital Hub in Valencia, Spain, on May 11 as part
of efforts to strengthen global digital operations across the organisation.
The new UN Digital Hub will
consolidate existing digital service delivery capabilities in Valencia and
Brindisi under a unified enterprise model aimed at improving integration,
security, and operational efficiency across UN systems.
According to the United
Nations Office of Information and Communications Technology, the initiative
forms part of the broader UN ICT Strategy and represents a flagship deliverable
under the UN80 framework, which seeks to modernise the organisation’s operations
through scalable digital infrastructure and streamlined service delivery.
The Digital Hub is expected
to support global UN mandates by bringing together people, digital platforms,
and operational services within a more coordinated framework designed to
replace fragmented systems with integrated and secure digital operations.
The project is being hosted
in partnership with the Government of Spain, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,
European Union and Cooperation of Spain, the United Nations Global Service
Centre, and the Business Council for International Understanding.
UN officials described the
initiative as a significant step toward building the future of digital
operations within the international body as demand for secure, scalable, and
globally connected digital services continues to grow.
