The
West Africa Internet Governance Forum (WAIGF) Youth Track 2026 has convened
young leaders, innovators, students, civil society actors, and digital
entrepreneurs from across ECOWAS to engage on key regional digital public
policy priorities.
The
initiative, hosted under the Ministry of Communication, Technology and
Innovation, provides a structured platform aimed at strengthening youth
participation in discussions shaping the future of internet governance in West
Africa.

The
WAIGF serves as a regional multistakeholder forum that brings together
governments, private sector actors, technical communities, and civil society to
address internet-related policy and governance issues across the subregion.
The
2026 youth track is designed to be action-oriented, enabling participants to
contribute directly to conversations on digital inclusion, governance
frameworks, innovation, and the development of a sustainable digital economy.

Organisers
noted that the engagement reflects growing recognition of young people as key
stakeholders in shaping digital policy and advancing regional integration
within West Africa’s evolving digital ecosystem.
