A delegation of nine
executives from Côte d’Ivoire’s digital sector institutions has embarked on a
strategic training mission in Shenzhen, China, as the country intensifies
efforts to accelerate its national digital transformation agenda.
The delegation, comprising
representatives from the National Telecommunications Universal Service Agency
(ANSUT), the National Agency for Information Systems Security (ANSSI), the
Higher School of Information and Communication Technologies (ESATIC), and MTN
Côte d’Ivoire Institute of Technology (MTNIT), is participating in a
specialized training programme hosted by Huawei Technologies at its Global
Training Center.
The programme is focused on
exploring the role of information and communication technologies (ICTs) in
driving national digital transformation and strengthening key sectors of the
economy. Participants are receiving training on the application of digital
technologies in healthcare, education, industry, and other strategic sectors,
as well as examining approaches to accelerate digital development at the
national level.
The mission aligns with Côte
d’Ivoire’s broader digital transformation ambitions under the leadership of
Minister of Digital Transition and Technological Innovation, Djibril Ouattara.
The government has set a target of increasing the contribution of the digital
economy to the country’s Gross Domestic Product from 6 percent to 15 percent by
2030.
This objective is being
pursued through a national digital strategy built around seven strategic
pillars aimed at enhancing connectivity, innovation, digital skills
development, cybersecurity, and the adoption of emerging technologies across
the economy.
The training mission in
Shenzhen, widely regarded as one of the world’s leading technology and
innovation hubs, is expected to strengthen the technical expertise of
participants and support the implementation of Côte d’Ivoire’s digital
transformation priorities as the country seeks to position itself as a leading
digital economy in Africa.
