The Responsible AI Lab has organised a prototype testing session with Persons with Disabilities at the Centre for Disability and Rehabilitation Studies as part of efforts to co-design assistive technologies that leave no one behind.

The session was led by RAIL’s Responsible AI and Inclusivity team. Prof. Jerry John Kponyo, Principal Investigator and Scientific Director of RAIL, stressed the importance of involving end-users from the very beginning of innovation.

“RAIL is a multidisciplinary lab because we ensure a cross-sectoral approach in the solutions we develop,” he said. “We subscribe to inclusivity by design, meaning that in every solution, we bring the users on board.”

The initiative reflects RAIL’s commitment to developing technologies that are accessible and responsive to the needs of all users, particularly marginalised groups.
