A high-level delegation of European and German digital companies has concluded a strategic mission in Kenya aimed at strengthening cooperation in open-source technologies, cloud services, digital outsourcing, and talent development.

The engagement, organised by International Digital Dialogues in partnership with the Digital Transformation Center Kenya, brought together seven technology firms from Germany and Europe for a week of policy discussions, business matchmaking, and ecosystem engagement with Kenya’s digital and global business services sector.

Participating companies included DAASI International, dNation, Heinlein Gruppe, Open-Xchange, .riess applications gmbh, teuto.net Netzdienste GmbH, and Univention. The delegation explored opportunities for collaboration in open-source ecosystems, IT outsourcing, and digital trade between Europe and Kenya.

The programme featured high-level dialogues with public and private sector stakeholders, as well as participation in AI Everything Kenya x GITEX Kenya, where discussions focused on scaling innovation partnerships and strengthening Africa–Europe digital cooperation.

Organisers noted that the mission also marked the launch of a new develoPPP initiative, “Digital Outsourcing Jobs for Kenya’s Youth,” aimed at expanding employment opportunities in the country’s growing digital economy.

According to the organisers, the week-long engagements identified concrete areas for future collaboration, including business partnerships, talent sourcing, and market entry strategies for participating firms. Early-stage business agreements and cooperative frameworks are already being developed following the discussions.

The initiative was supported by a range of industry and government stakeholders from both regions, who contributed to shaping the dialogue on digital transformation and cross-border technology cooperation.

Organisers said the outcomes of the mission demonstrate increasing momentum for structured Europe–Kenya digital partnerships, particularly in open-source development and the expansion of global digital services value chains.
