The National Information Technology Agency (NITA) has announced an Early Market Engagement (EME) session on the proposed Ghana Electronic Document Wallet (GEDW) ecosystem, inviting stakeholders across government, the private sector, development partners, and the general public to contribute to its development.

The engagement, scheduled for 25 June 2026 at 10:00 GMT, will provide participants with insights into the vision, architecture, implementation approach, and regulatory framework guiding the national digital document initiative.

According to NITA, the Ghana Electronic Document Wallet is designed as a strategic digital infrastructure project aimed at transforming how citizens, businesses, and institutions receive, store, share, and verify official documents. The platform is expected to enhance efficiency, improve security, and strengthen trust in digital document exchange across Ghana’s public and private sectors.

The Early Market Engagement will be held virtually via Microsoft Teams, allowing broad participation from technology providers, government agencies, private sector actors, and other interested stakeholders. Participants will also have the opportunity to provide feedback to inform the design and implementation of the ecosystem.

NITA stated that the initiative is part of broader efforts to advance Ghana’s digital transformation agenda by building secure and innovative digital public infrastructure that supports service delivery and interoperability across institutions.

The agency emphasized its commitment to inclusive stakeholder engagement and encouraged all relevant actors to take part in shaping the future of digital document access, exchange, and verification in the country.

Enquiries regarding the engagement can be directed to NITA via email or telephone as provided in the official notice.
