Senegal’s Minister of Telecommunications and Digital Affairs, Samba Diouf, has reaffirmed the importance of human capital and collective action in driving the country’s digital transformation agenda following a meeting with staff of the ministry.

The engagement brought together personnel from the ministry’s various directorates and departments in a session focused on dialogue, listening, and the exchange of ideas aimed at strengthening institutional performance and advancing national digital priorities.

During the meeting, staff members were given the opportunity to share their concerns, expectations, and perspectives regarding the ministry’s operations and future direction. The session also served as a platform to recognize the contributions of public servants working to support Senegal’s ongoing digital transformation efforts.

Addressing the gathering, Diouf emphasized that human capital remains the most important factor in the successful implementation of public policies. He encouraged ministry staff to continue fostering a culture of performance, professional excellence, accountability, and dedication to public service.

The minister also reiterated his commitment to implementing the government's New Deal Technologique vision, which seeks to accelerate the country's digital development and position technology as a key driver of economic growth and social progress.

According to Diouf, achieving the objectives of the digital transformation strategy will require stronger collaboration across all levels of the ministry, as well as sustained efforts to implement major digital projects, strengthen Senegal’s digital sovereignty, build local digital skills, and improve the quality of services delivered to citizens and businesses.

The meeting forms part of broader efforts by the Ministry of Telecommunications and Digital Affairs to align internal teams around strategic priorities and ensure effective execution of programmes designed to modernize public services and expand digital opportunities across the country.

Senegal has identified digital transformation as a key pillar of its development agenda, with government initiatives increasingly focused on expanding connectivity, promoting innovation, strengthening digital infrastructure, and creating an inclusive digital ecosystem capable of supporting long-term economic growth.

Officials believe that continued collaboration between public institutions, private-sector stakeholders, and technology professionals will be essential to building a resilient and competitive digital economy that benefits all Senegalese citizens.
