The African Agribusiness
Incubators Network (AAIN), in partnership with the African Development Bank
(AfDB), has officially launched a Business Incubation Management (BIM) training
programme in Burundi to strengthen the country's entrepreneurship and business
incubation ecosystem.
The training is being
delivered under the Projet d'Appui à l'Entrepreneuriat Agro-Pastoral et au
Perfectionnement Professionnel des Jeunes et des Femmes (PAEAPPJF) and aims to
build the capacity of participants to support enterprise development, innovation
and job creation.
The programme was officially
inaugurated by Jacob Riziki, Permanent Secretary at Burundi's Ministry of
Youth, Sports and Culture, alongside Epaphrodite Semyampi, Project Coordinator
of the PAEAPPJF.
Speaking at the opening
ceremony, Riziki reaffirmed the Government of Burundi's commitment to
empowering young people and women through investments in skills development,
entrepreneurship, innovation and talent development.
He commended the partnership
between the Government of Burundi, the African Development Bank and AAIN,
describing business incubation as a key driver of enterprise creation,
employment and sustainable industrial development.
The Permanent Secretary
encouraged participants to actively engage in the training and apply the
knowledge gained to foster innovation and contribute to Burundi's
socio-economic development.
AAIN said the initiative
forms part of broader efforts to strengthen business incubation ecosystems
across Africa, supporting the creation of resilient enterprises, decent jobs
and inclusive economic growth.
