NITA-Uganda engages industry leaders at 2026 CIO conclave

The National Information Technology Authority Uganda has participated in the 2026 CIO Conclave, engaging with key stakeholders across the technology ecosystem to advance dialogue on priorities shaping the country’s digital future.
The conclave brought together Chief Information Officers, Chief Technology Officers, regulators, commissioners and enterprise leaders to exchange insights on emerging trends and strengthen collaboration across sectors. Discussions focused on artificial intelligence implementation strategies, digital talent development, cross-sector technology partnerships, cybersecurity coordination and shared infrastructure initiatives.
Participants highlighted the importance of aligning strategies to address evolving technological challenges while building resilient and secure digital systems capable of supporting national development objectives.
During the event, NITA-Uganda also announced the upcoming Digital Government Awards, an annual recognition programme scheduled for 2 October 2026. The awards aim to celebrate excellence and outstanding performance in digital innovation and transformation across government institutions.
Officials noted that the engagement reflects a shared commitment among stakeholders to foster innovation, enhance cooperation and accelerate sustainable digital transformation across sectors.
