Djibouti
has announced the appointment of H.E. Mrs. Safia Ali Mohamed Gadileh as
Minister Delegate in charge of the Digital Economy and Innovation within the
Ministère Délégué chargé de l’Economie Numérique et de l’Innovation (MDENI),
marking a new phase in the country’s digital transformation agenda.
The
appointment is expected to strengthen national efforts to accelerate digital
innovation, expand the digital economy, and enhance the use of
technology-driven solutions in public administration and economic development.
Safia
Ali Mohamed Gadileh will oversee strategic initiatives aimed at advancing
innovation-led growth and supporting the country’s broader digital
transformation objectives.
The
ministry is tasked with promoting digital infrastructure development, fostering
innovation ecosystems, and supporting policies that encourage the growth of
technology-driven enterprises.
Officials
have expressed confidence that the new leadership will contribute to
strengthening Djibouti’s position as an emerging digital hub in the Horn of
Africa, while deepening reforms aimed at modernizing the national economy
through technology.
The
appointment comes as Djibouti continues to prioritize digital transformation as
a key pillar of its national development strategy, with emphasis on innovation,
connectivity, and inclusive economic growth.
