The Gambia has reached a significant milestone in its digital transformation agenda with the successful validation and sign-off workshop for the country’s National Enterprise Architecture under the GovStack initiative.

The workshop, supported by the International Telecommunication Union through its Regional Office for Africa, brought together government ministers, public institutions, technical experts, and development partners to formally endorse a unified digital blueprint for the country.

The framework is expected to guide The Gambia’s digital transformation efforts over the coming years by promoting a whole-of-government approach to public service delivery through interoperable systems and shared Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI).

Officials indicated that the initiative is designed to improve coordination across government institutions, enable seamless digital services, and strengthen citizen-centric governance through connected digital systems.

The validation process marks the transition from strategic planning to implementation, with stakeholders emphasizing the importance of resilient, inclusive, and digitally connected governance structures.

The ITU commended the Government of The Gambia, the Gambia Information and Communication Technology Agency (GICTA), and participating stakeholders for their collaboration and commitment in advancing the country’s digital modernization efforts.

The GovStack initiative is aimed at supporting governments in developing scalable and interoperable digital public infrastructure to improve the efficiency and accessibility of public services.
