Dubai has announced the
establishment of the Dubai Future Regulations Team, involving 25 government
entities, to advance the emirate’s legislative framework, strengthen global
competitiveness and prepare for emerging economic sectors and new business models.
The announcement was
witnessed by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of
Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the United Arab
Emirates.
The team was established
under the supervision of the Dubai Future Foundation and the Supreme
Legislation Committee in the Emirate of Dubai.
It will work to strengthen
the emirate’s readiness for emerging economic sectors, attract talent and
ensure that its legislative framework can respond to evolving business models
and rapid technological advances.
Sheikh Hamdan said Dubai was
leading the race among global cities to develop future-ready legislation,
adding that legislative innovation should become an integrated institutional
practice driven by collaboration between the public and private sectors.
He said the initiative would
support the development of a global model for legislative readiness that
responds to rapid technological advances and strengthens economic
competitiveness.
The initiative places
legislative innovation at the centre of Dubai’s efforts to adapt its regulatory
framework to changing economic and technological conditions while maintaining
its global competitiveness.
