The Botswana Communications
Regulatory Authority (BOCRA) has organised senior school debates as part of
activities marking Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2026, aimed at empowering
young people with the knowledge and skills to stay safe in the digital world.
Held under this year’s
theme, “Stay Safe Online, Don’t Make It Easy for Them,” the debates provide a
platform for learners to engage, share ideas and deepen their understanding of
online safety.
The participating schools
are Mogoditshane Senior School, Gaborone Senior Secondary School, Ledumang
Senior Secondary School and Rainbow High School.
Through the initiative,
BOCRA is seeking to build cybersecurity awareness among young people while
promoting responsible digital behaviour and a safer online environment.
The authority acknowledged
the support of UNICEF, Liquid Telecommunications, the University of Botswana
and the Botswana Debate Masters Association in organising the activities.
