The
4th East African Community Regional Science, Technology and Innovation (STI)
Conference has officially opened in Kigali, convening ministers, policymakers,
researchers, and innovators from across the region to strengthen collaboration
in science and technology.

The conference, hosted by the Ministry of ICT and Innovation Rwanda, is
bringing together key stakeholders from EAC member states to explore strategies
for advancing innovation and regional integration through science and emerging
technologies.
Over the course of three days, participants will focus
on the growing impact of artificial intelligence on economies and institutions,
while examining how the region can build the necessary skills, research
capacity, and partnerships to harness AI for inclusive growth.

Discussions
are also expected to address policy alignment, knowledge sharing, and
investment opportunities aimed at positioning East Africa as a competitive hub
for innovation and digital transformation.
