Senegal’s
space research and training programme SENSAT participated in the 4th edition of
the African Aeronautics and Space Innovation Trophy (ASIT), at the Air and
Space Museum in Le Bourget.
The
event, organized by African Aeronautics & Space Organisation, brought
together key decision-makers and stakeholders from across Africa and the global
space industry to discuss developments and opportunities within the sector.

During
a session focused on the state of Africa’s space ecosystem, Gayane Faye,
Coordinator of SENSAT Senegal, highlighted the programme’s emphasis on building
human capital as a foundation for advancing the continent’s space capabilities.
The
engagement also provided an opportunity to strengthen cooperation between
Senegal and international partners, supporting broader goals related to
training, innovation, and technological sovereignty in the space sector.

At
the ceremony, the top honour of the 4th edition was awarded to Tidiane
Ouattara, President of the African Space Council of the African Space Agency,
in recognition of his contributions to the development of Africa’s space
industry.
