Gabon’s
Minister of Digital Economy, Digitalization and Innovation, Mark-Alexandre
Doumba has assembled Central Directors of Information Systems and Directors of
Information Systems at the Agence Nationale des Infrastructures Numériques et
des Fréquences auditorium, to advance efforts toward a more coordinated and
structured digital transformation of the State.
The
meeting focused on aligning stakeholders around a unified national vision, with
the Minister highlighting progress made through the country’s strengthened
legal and regulatory framework, which now provides tools to better organise and
harmonise digital initiatives across government institutions.

A
presentation of the national digitalization and innovation strategy outlined
key priorities, including regulatory reforms, expansion of digital
infrastructure, digitization of public services and payments, promotion of
local entrepreneurship, and the transition toward a data-driven administration
and economy.
Minister
Doumba emphasized the need to move away from fragmented, institution-specific
digital projects toward a centralized and coordinated approach, supported by
stronger governance structures, strategic master plans and enhanced oversight
mechanisms.

Participants
engaged in discussions on implementation challenges and operational realities,
with additional technical clarifications provided by the Director General of
ANINF to support alignment on execution.
The
initiative is expected to strengthen integrated digital governance and improve
public service delivery, as Gabon advances efforts to build a cohesive and
sovereign digital ecosystem.
