Algeria
is accelerating its digital transformation agenda with significant progress
across infrastructure, e-governance, and digital economy development, according
to discussions between government officials and United Nations representatives.
The
United Nations Resident Coordinator, Savina Ammassari, highlighted the country’s pace and ambition
following engagements with High Commissioner for Digitalisation Meriem
Benmouloud and her team, alongside the United Nations Development Programme.

Key
developments include investments in sovereign cloud infrastructure and data
centres, expansion of digital skills initiatives, and efforts to scale up
e-governance services while fostering a more inclusive digital society. A major
milestone is the forthcoming launch of the Dzair Services platform, which will
make 52 public services accessible online.
Discussions
also underscored the importance of aligning digitalisation efforts with
simplified administrative procedures, improved user experience, and stronger
governance frameworks. Participants emphasized the need for interoperable data
systems to support effective policymaking and service delivery.

The
United Nations reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Algeria’s digital
transformation as a driver of economic diversification, improved public
services, and greater inclusion across the country.
