Vodacom
Tanzania Plc has been recognised by the President of Tanzania, H.E Samia Suluhu
Hassan for its contribution to expanding telecommunications access in
underserved and rural communities across the country.
Vodacom
Tanzania Plc received the recognition during a national event officiated by President
Samia Suluhu Hassan, where efforts to scale connectivity infrastructure were
highlighted.

The
award was received on behalf of the company by Network Director Andrew Lupembe,
acknowledging Vodacom Tanzania’s role in extending network coverage and
enabling access to essential services such as education, healthcare, and
digital markets for millions of citizens.
The
recognition coincided with the launch of 758 telecommunications towers across
85 districts, a nationwide initiative aimed at improving connectivity in rural
and previously underserved areas through collaboration between government and
mobile network operators.

Vodacom
Tanzania also reaffirmed its ongoing investments in expanding 4G coverage,
promoting smartphone adoption, and modernising network infrastructure to
enhance access to digital services.
The
company noted that the progress achieved reflects the impact of coordinated
public-private partnerships in accelerating digital inclusion and supporting
socio-economic development across Tanzania.
