The
University of Ghana has commended the astronauts of the Artemis II Mission
following the successful completion of the mission, with special recognition
for Christina Koch, a former international exchange student of the university.
Koch,
who studied electrical engineering and physics at North Carolina State
University, participated in an exchange programme at the University of Ghana
during the 1999/2000 academic year.

In
a statement, the university highlighted its growing focus on
internationalisation through expanded exchange programmes, strategic
partnerships and summer school initiatives. These efforts have led to an
increase in international student enrolment while providing Ghanaian students
with opportunities for global academic exposure.

The
institution noted that achievements such as the Artemis II Mission serve as a
source of inspiration for advancing science and engineering education. As part
of this direction, the university is exploring the introduction of space
science-related programmes to position students for future opportunities in
science, technology and innovation.

The
University of Ghana congratulated the Artemis II crew on their achievement,
expressing confidence that the mission will inspire the next generation of
scientists and innovators across Ghana and beyond.
