Ghana
is advancing its digital transformation agenda through the proposed National
Data Exchange Platform (NDEP) and the Data Harmonisation Bill, aimed at
improving efficiency and coordination across public sector institutions.
The
initiative seeks to address long-standing challenges caused by fragmented
government data systems by enabling secure, standardised, and legally compliant
data sharing among public institutions.

According
to officials, the proposed framework is expected to deliver several key
outcomes, including reduced duplication of processes and operational costs,
improved revenue mobilisation through integrated data systems, faster digital
public service delivery, and strengthened data-driven policymaking.
The
reforms form part of broader efforts to modernise Ghana’s digital governance
architecture and enhance interoperability across government platforms.

Ongoing
stakeholder engagements are being held to refine the proposed framework,
reflecting a co-creation approach that brings together institutions responsible
for shaping the country’s data ecosystem.
Authorities
say the collaborative process is intended to ensure that the final governance
structure is practical, inclusive, and aligned with national development
priorities.
