The
Ministry of ICT and Innovation in Rwanda has signed a Memorandum of
Understanding with Ansys to expand access to advanced simulation software
across universities and polytechnics in the country.
The
agreement was formalised during a meeting between the Minister of State for ICT
and Innovation, Yves Iradukunda, and a delegation from Ansys led by Managing
Director for Africa, Mr. Lou Major.

The
partnership establishes a unified framework for onboarding higher learning
institutions onto the Ansys platform, enabling access to simulation tools and
software licences designed to support engineering and technology education.
Under
the agreement, simulation will be integrated into teaching and learning through
structured training programmes, lectures, demonstrations, and industry
engagement sessions involving both students and lecturers.

The
initiative is aimed at strengthening the alignment between academic training
and industry requirements, while enhancing practical engineering and digital
skills development in response to the evolving needs of the digital economy.
Officials
noted that the collaboration forms part of broader national efforts to
modernise higher education and equip graduates with tools relevant to advanced
industrial and technological applications.
