The Department of Science, Technology and Innovation has underscored the importance of international collaboration in advancing research and innovation following the successful hosting of the South Africa-China Young Scientist Symposium at the CSIR Convention Centre.

The symposium brought together emerging researchers, academic leaders, and diplomatic representatives from both countries for a focused engagement aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in science, technology, and innovation.

Discussions at the event centered on youth empowerment, skills transfer, and the role of joint scientific research in addressing complex global challenges. Participants emphasized the importance of nurturing the next generation of scientists through structured collaboration and knowledge exchange between South Africa and China.
