The Global Cybersecurity
Forum (GCF) and UN Women are convening a high-level meeting on women’s
empowerment in cybersecurity to advance global action aimed at increasing
women’s participation in the cybersecurity workforce and addressing the
sector’s talent gap.
The convening is being held
in partnership with the Permanent Mission of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the
United Nations on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the United Nations
General Assembly (UNGA81).
The session brings together
leaders from government, industry, academia and international organisations to
examine policies, partnerships and capacity-building initiatives that can
expand opportunities for women across the global cybersecurity workforce.
The organisers said
strengthening women’s participation in cybersecurity is important to building
global resilience and ensuring that the sector has the talent and capabilities
required to operate at full strength.
The high-level dialogue will
focus on practical approaches to creating greater opportunities for women,
while supporting broader efforts to close the cybersecurity talent gap.
Through the engagement, GCF
and UN Women are seeking to strengthen global dialogue and encourage action
that can contribute to a more inclusive and resilient cybersecurity workforce.
