The
UN Technology Bank for the Least Developed Countries has officially commenced
its mission in Malawi with engagements aimed at strengthening collaboration on
science, technology, and innovation for sustainable development.
The
initiative began with a courtesy meeting involving Mr. Hyoung-Joon Lim,
Resident Coordinator a.i. and Representative of the World Food Programme in
Malawi.

Discussions
focused on enhancing cooperation between the UN Technology Bank and the United
Nations Country Team in Malawi, as well as preparations for the upcoming launch
of Malawi’s Technology Needs Assessment (TNA).
The
meeting also explored potential areas for future collaboration and the
development of impactful projects intended to support innovation, technological
advancement, and sustainable development in the country.

The
UN Technology Bank reaffirmed its commitment to working with partners across
the UN system and other stakeholders to strengthen science, technology, and
innovation ecosystems in Malawi.
