Visa and First Bank of
Nigeria Limited have launched the Visa Flex Signature Card and the Naira Visa
Debit Card as part of efforts to strengthen digital payments and expand
financial inclusion in Nigeria.
The launch marks a new phase
in the partnership between the two institutions and reflects ongoing efforts to
support the evolution of Nigeria’s digital payments ecosystem through products
targeted at different customer segments.
Speaking during the launch, the
Vice President and Head, West Africa Cluster at Visa, Andrew Uaboi said the new
offerings are designed to meet the changing needs of consumers across the
country.
According to him, the
FirstBank Visa Flex Signature Card is targeted at affluent and globally
connected customers seeking seamless cross-border payment experiences, premium
benefits, and broader international access.

He added that the Naira Visa
Debit Card is aimed at expanding access to secure and reliable digital payment
services for everyday consumers, supporting Nigeria’s transition toward a more
cashless economy.
Uaboi noted that the
collaboration between Visa and FirstBank reflects a broader strategy focused on
balancing financial inclusion and innovation while scaling digital payment
infrastructure across multiple consumer segments.
He also commended the
leadership of FirstBank for its continued partnership and commitment to
advancing innovation within Nigeria’s financial services sector.
The launch comes amid
growing adoption of digital financial services in Nigeria, as banks and payment
technology firms continue to introduce products aimed at improving
accessibility, convenience, and secure transactions across the economy.
