MTN
Cameroon has engaged female students in Douala and Yaoundé through its Women in
Tech initiative aimed at encouraging young women to pursue careers in
technology and leadership.
The
event took place simultaneously at the Institut Universitaire de la Côte in
Douala and the National Advanced School of Engineering in Yaoundé. It brought
together female students interested in exploring opportunities within the
technology sector.

The
sessions featured discussions on technical excellence, leadership development,
and career pathways in technology. Female professionals shared personal
experiences and career journeys, offering insights into the challenges and
opportunities within the industry. The programme also included interactive
activities and engagements designed to inspire participants and build
confidence in their abilities.
MTN
Cameroon said the initiative forms part of its Women in Tech programme, which
focuses on promoting greater participation of women in science, technology,
engineering, and related fields by highlighting role models and creating
platforms for mentorship and engagement.

During
the event, the President of Women in Tech, Mrs. Aline Jounewe, encouraged
participants to believe in their potential and pursue their ambitions with
determination, emphasizing that young women have the capacity to make
significant contributions to the technology sector.
The
programme reflects MTN Cameroon’s broader efforts to support gender inclusion
in technology and help nurture the next generation of female innovators and
leaders.
