University of Fez has hosted the Ramadan AI Hackathon, a national initiative
aimed at transforming innovative ideas into practical artificial intelligence
solutions to address real-world challenges.
The
hackathon, led by the Ministère de la Transition Numérique et de la Réforme de
l'Administration, was organized across the twelve regions of Morocco, including
the Fez-Meknes region, as part of a broader effort to promote digital
innovation and responsible AI development.

The
three-day event brought together students, young professionals, entrepreneurs,
and project leaders, all working collaboratively to design AI-driven solutions
with a focus on local impact and societal relevance.
Participants
worked in multidisciplinary teams under the guidance of mentors, enabling them
to refine their ideas, develop prototypes, and strengthen the technical and
practical viability of their projects. The structured environment encouraged
knowledge sharing and collaboration, helping teams transition from conceptual
thinking to tangible outputs.
The
final day of the hackathon focused on pitch development, with teams presenting
their projects to a jury composed of experts. The session provided an
opportunity for participants to showcase their innovations, receive feedback,
and gain insights to further develop their solutions.

Organizers
said the initiative goes beyond competition, positioning the hackathon as a
platform for innovation, skills development, and collaboration. It also aims to
foster the adoption of artificial intelligence as a tool for sustainable
development and public interest solutions across Morocco.
