Kenya
has reinforced its commitment to expanding international digital partnerships
following a State Visit to Kazakhstan led by President William Ruto, which
focused on strengthening cooperation in key technology and innovation sectors.
The
visit, which included senior government officials such as H.E. William Kabogo
Gitau, centered on advancing collaboration between Kenya and Kazakhstan in
areas including information and communications technology, artificial
intelligence, e-government services, space technology, innovation, and trade.

According
to officials, the discussions are expected to open new avenues for bilateral
cooperation aimed at accelerating Kenya’s ongoing digital transformation
agenda, particularly under its Digital Superhighway initiative.
The
Kenyan delegation emphasized that strategic global partnerships are essential
to building AI capacity, enhancing digital skills development, and supporting
innovation-driven economic growth.
Government
representatives noted that technology and artificial intelligence are
increasingly shaping global economic systems, and reaffirmed Kenya’s ambition
to position itself as a leading digital and innovation hub on the African
continent.

The
State Visit is part of broader efforts by Kenya to deepen international
cooperation and attract partnerships that support the expansion of digital
infrastructure, emerging technologies, and knowledge exchange.
